Thank you for supporting Moniker Press, we’re excited to work with you! Since every project we work on is so different, each requires a custom estimate. The checklists below are designed to help you determine the specifications of your project, which will ensure that we have all the essential information to create an accurate estimate. Please review the appropriate checklist based on your project type (Book/Zine or Print) and provide the requested details.

If you’re unsure about your project’s particulars, we’re happy to answer any questions via email or to schedule a studio visit to determine them. Even if you’re in the early stages of planning, it’s helpful for us to know about upcoming projects in advance so we can anticipate your deadlines in our production schedule. Book/Zine category is any for project that has pages, cover + binding. Please specify if you select “other” for any of the options.

Estimates are valid for up to 30 days from the date of issue. Please note estimates are subject to potential changes or adjustments based on the final project specifications. For example, if there are modifications to the paper selection or design or file set-up required, or any additional services or material costs beyond the initial project specifications, the invoice will be adjusted accordingly. TURNAROUND TIMES

Moniker Press strives to meet your deadlines and provide reasonable turnaround times. The tables below display average turnaround times in business days, but actual production time may vary depending on the time of year and our current schedule (sometimes we’re even able to complete projects ahead of schedule!) 

Based on our experience, it’s always advisable to allow for some extra time in your project timeline. Unexpected challenges or additional revisions may arise, and having a buffer allows us to address any unforeseen circumstances. When we are at full capacity, we reserve the right to decline projects with tight deadlines. While we are able to accommodate rush orders for most prints, we currently do not have capacity to accept rush orders for zines/books. Please do keep in mind that MP is a solo-run operation, which may impact the production speed and response time for correspondence or estimates.

EXAMPLE PRODUCTION STEPS
①   Initial email request  for estimate, follow the checklists to provide your project specifications, if you’re not sure of something, ask us to arrange a studio to look at paper and print samples.
②   Reply   and confirmation of specifications with Erica.
③   Estimate   creation and approval, review of Terms + Conditions agreement.
④   Send   us your final files or hire us to do file set up and colour separation for you.
⑤   Digital Proof / Final file approval   and set up for print.
⑥   Deposit   or 1st payment for applicable orders Moniker Press requires a deposit (50% or material costs) to be paid before printing begins, the remaining invoice amount must be paid on the day of pickup of the final product.
⑦   Paper  is ordered if required. This can take anywhere from 2-7 business days or depending on the paper type up to 1-6 weeks.
⑧   Printing  begins. Time to complete will vary based on quantity and ink amount. Ink must dry (24-48hrs) between multiple layers and double sided prints.
⑨   Finishing  once prints are complete we move onto any the final steps: folding, collating, binding, final trim, packaging, counting etc.
⑩   Pickup  and final quality check: once your project is complete we will email you to arrange a pick up time.
⑪   Final Payment  is due upon pickup, payments can be made by cash, cheque or e-transfer (erica@monikerpress.ca auto deposit)
